Our Story

Every great product begins with a story — and ours begins with love.

We are Miguel & Claudia, a husband-and-wife team of photographers whose lives took an unexpected turn during the pandemic. In March 2020, our photography projects were suddenly canceled, and with uncertainty all around us, I returned to Miami, the city I had called home since childhood. Claudia and our daughter stayed behind in Peru while I worked on a ranch in Montana, caring for horses and quietly planning our family’s future.

But through all the change, I longed for one thing: the taste of home. Peruvian food isn’t just a cuisine — it’s a way of life. Hot sauce, especially, is at the center of every meal. One day, over the phone, Claudia shared her recipe for crema de ají amarillo. I made it in my small Montana kitchen — and suddenly, I was home again.

When I returned to Miami, I shared the sauce with my neighbor, then with family. Everyone loved it. That’s when we knew: we had something real. A piece of Peru that people wanted to taste and share.

This is how Ají de los Andes Peruanos was born — out of love, resilience, and the flavors of Peru.
